1. Introduction

OkkaStack Labs ("we," "our," or "us") built the Badminton Tournament League app (the "App") as a free-to-use Android application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored as a bcrypt hash). If you sign in via Google, we receive your name and email from your Google profile.

Profile Information. You may optionally provide a playing style, avatar photo, and other profile details.

Tournament & Match Data. We store tournaments you create, match scores, bracket progress, player rankings, and participant registrations to enable the App's core functionality.

Device Information. We may collect device type, operating system version, and app version for analytics and crash reporting.

Log Data. When you use the App, we may collect log data such as your IP address, device event logs, and timestamps for troubleshooting purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide tournament creation, match scoring, and bracket management features
• Display player rankings and leaderboards
• Communicate with you about your tournaments and account
• Improve, debug, and maintain the App
• Detect and prevent abuse or unauthorized access

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers managed by OkkaStack Labs. We use industry-standard security measures including:

• Bcrypt password hashing (no plain-text passwords stored)
• JWT-based authentication with token expiry
• HTTPS encryption for all network communications
• Parameterized SQL queries to prevent injection attacks

While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In — for optional OAuth 2.0 authentication. Google's privacy policy applies to the initial sign-in flow.
• PostgreSQL — our database provider for storing all app data.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Tournament and match data may be retained indefinitely to preserve tournament history and rankings. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for data processing (where applicable)

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
